Miriam Villacastin

I am a Spanish artist based in Ireland, working across painting, photography, and printmaking to explore themes of diversity, identity, and the human experience.

My work investigates how cultures intersect, how traditions evolve, and how personal and collective histories shape us.​

Inspired by folklore, symbolism, and tradition, my art is a dialogue between figuration and abstraction. I merge these visual languages to create multilayered compositions that reflect the complexity and fluidity of human identity.​

Through bold colors, rich textures, and intricate patterns, I draw from the places I have lived and traveled, weaving traditional motifs into a contemporary aesthetic. ​

The human form is a recurring presence in my work, embodying identity as constantly evolving and expressed through a fusion of modern, geometric, and urban influences.
